that's just a teaser, right? I would love to hear your thoughts on the match and all! I was there too - loved the Stadium, quite liked the opening ceremocy, could not believe how great we were in the first half of the match, could not understand what happend in the second... still after that penalty, a draw should be considered lucky...

PP- Unfortunately, it is not my picture but a picture sent to me by my student who got one last minute ticket. Bless her heart, she went to the game all by herself. I was worried about missing the game because we were at our village house where we don't have a TV (well, no antenna, only for dvds). Through my charm alone, I was able to snag an invite from my neighbor who has a huge flat-screen TV. It was awesome. We all painted our faces and put on our super-fan gear. The opening ceremony was cool and when they played the national anthem, I almost cried. And Lewandowski's goal was so beautiful, I almost cried then too. Really, it felt great to see the first goal scored by the Polish team. And then our red card, I think I did cry. It was all so exciting. I cannot imagine how you must have felt there among the crowd. How was it? Did you cry too?

Lois - As an official volunteer, you have to know the chant ;) Fans in Poznan, give your greetings to the friendly American Euro 2012 volunteer, Lois B :)

Anita - Ja też, jak prawdziwa Polka :)

Chris, good to hear you enjoyed the game so much! And well done for getting the neighbours to invite you to watch it! I had a great time at the Stadium - it was incredible to be among the 50,00+ people singing the anthem, never felt so Polish in my entire life! The goal by Lewandowski was great and it was wonderful to see how he celebrated it. When Szczesny got sent out, a guy sitting next to us shouted: "where is Boruc?" but then Tyton saved the penalty anyway and it was just incredible. All in all there was so much drama - ups and downs - and so much shoutng I felt my heart might explode and I may end up loosing my voice for a couple of days... And if five years ago someone told me Poland would be hosting the Euro championships and I would go to the opening game I would laugh at them - just shows everything can happen!
